Complimentary beach bags and bottles added to the giveaways, and a chill zone offered a relaxed space to unwind. The event combined music, treats, and lifestyle experiences to create an engaging and shareable day at the beach, reflecting the fun, youthful energy of the three brands while encouraging attendees to interact, enjoy, and make the most of Bondi’s iconic coastline.

WHAT THE CLIENT NEEDED

The goal was a high-energy activation that brought Afterpay, DoorDash, and Messina to life at Bondi’s iconic beach. The activation combined interactive elements, giveaways, and engaging experiences to attract foot traffic, generate social content, and leave a lasting impression.

Accessibility was important so attendees could easily claim offers like free gelato via the Afterpay app. The overall atmosphere was vibrant, music-driven, and aligned with the youthful, lifestyle-focused energy of the three brands. We saw this as an opportunity to create more than just a typical brand activation. Our goal was to craft a mini summer experience at Bondi that would be fun, engaging, and shareable. The concept combined the playful energy of Messina’s gelato, the convenience of Afterpay, and the lifestyle vibe of DoorDash into a cohesive and immersive moment for attendees.

Bondi’s beach culture provided a natural backdrop, giving the event a relaxed and approachable feeling while remaining vibrant and memorable. The space was designed to encourage interaction, from the chill-out zone to the free giveaways, and music was a central element that energized the atmosphere.

We focused on balancing high-impact visuals and fun activities with areas for guests to genuinely relax and enjoy. Every visitor was able to engage with the brands in multiple ways and leave with a sense of discovery, joy, and connection to the experience.

How We Activated

We transformed North Bondi Surf Life Saving Club into a multi-sensory brand experience that engaged guests from the moment they arrived. A dedicated gelato station offered free Messina treats to anyone showing or downloading the Afterpay app, providing an immediate and tangible reward for participation.

A live DJ curated an upbeat soundtrack that energized the space and created a fun, lively atmosphere throughout the day. Guests could collect branded beach bags and bottles, adding to the giveaways and creating memorable, shareable moments for social media.

A chill zone was carefully positioned to give attendees a comfortable space to relax, socialize, and enjoy the sun. Staff were on hand to guide interactions, encourage app downloads, and ensure smooth engagement with all elements. The setup featured vibrant branding, beach-inspired design cues, and clear wayfinding to support flow and interaction.
